Testing Automation: Preliminary questions to frame the effort

This list of preliminary questions can be asked by the Sales to collect information that may precede a subsequent meeting with our Testing Automation expert or that helps the internal process of estimating the quotation (perhaps to be adapted according to the context):

  1. What apps are they? (if possible, access the app to test it)
  2. How many platforms do they have? (iOS and Android?)
  3. How many paths are there for their cores to verify?
  4. Do they have a doc (figma or similar) to understand the flows?
  5. How many devices are they interested in keeping monitored? (Say one or two for the most frequent runs and a larger list for a pre-release assessment - if they can give us the list from their analytics we can help them identify the best panel)
  6. Do they have evidence of specific bugs on known devices?
  7. What technology are the apps developed in (native or cross system? If cross, which one?)
  8. Is their backend on premise, or on cloud? (eventually, which cloud?)
  9. It would be better for us to do the tests in a QA environment (what environments do they have?).
  10. Is there any access limitation? (VPN or other?) Do they have device farm experience to run tests already? (If so, which one?)
